Discover the Flavors of Argentina: "The best Argentine dishes rated by Taste Atlas that you can find in my ventures."

Out of the most popular dishes of Argentina listed by Taste Atlas, here are the ones offered by my businesses: Argentine Feast, Tango Pastry and Nativo Spices!

Asado

Asado is a culinary and social event attended by friends and family. It offers a wide selection of grilled meats, mainly beef, for which Argentina is best known. Among them, my favorite cut and the one I always recommend is the steak eye. The meat is cooked on a special metal grill, called "parrilla", and the fire can be charcoal (parrilla al carbón) or wood (parrilla a leña), which is more typical of the countryside and is known as asado criollo, a term that indicates a more rustic and traditional style of grilling.

Alfajores

Argentine alfajores are sandwich cookies consisting of two round, crumbly sweet cookies with a filling of dulce de leche or milk jam between them. The combination is then covered with a layer of chocolate or sprinkled with powdered sugar. In Argentina you can find alfajores with different flavors of dulce de leche, such as chocolate, vanilla or various fruits. They are also packaged in different shapes and sizes, and are usually enjoyed with tea or coffee. Available at Tango Pastry

Dulce de leche

Dulce de leche is a type of condensed milk sweet from Argentina and Uruguay. Traditionally, it is made by heating sweetened cow's milk until it caramelizes and achieves a thick consistency, enough to act as a spread, a filling for cakes and pies, or an ice cream topping. As I love dulce de leche, I use it in many of the products we offer at Tango Pastry, so my advice is to run and try them.

Milanesa

Consists of a breaded slice of beef that is fried in hot oil or baked in the oven. Some say that the best milanesa in Buenos Aires will always be prepared at home, cooked by someone's mother, although many restaurants also have it on their menus. At Tango Pastry in Alexandria you can try the beef, chicken and Neapolitan options. Served with salad or french fries.

Chimichurri

Chimichurri, a typical sauce for seasoning grilled meats, is made with garlic, parsley, oil, chili, vinegar and salt. This vibrant green sauce (sometimes used as a marinade) is usually served with grilled beef steaks, but also works wonders with grilled pork, chicken, lamb, fish or duck, and is often paired with Malbec wine. Enjoy the exact combination of ingredients and flavors by savoring the Nativo Spices Chimichurri Blend

Choripan

It is a sandwich consisting of a chorizo sausage and Chimichurri by Nativo Spices in a crispy bun. If you have an event and you are looking for your catering to have choripan, in Tango Pastry we offer mini choripan. Ideal for any event or meeting

Medialunas

These soft crescent rolls are considered the Argentine version of the traditional French croissants. Although they are very similar to the French variety, the croissants are a bit moister, smaller and a bit sweeter. In Tango Pastry we have a wide variety of facturas, where we include the medialuna, but we also offer vigilantes, ochitos, cara sucia, among others.

 Empanadas Argentinas

Empanadas are made with dough, typically made with wheat flour, rolled thin and folded over a filling. The result is baked or fried until golden brown to perfection. There are many varieties of fillings and at Tango Pastry we offer Beef, Humita (Corn), Spinach, Ham & Cheese & Chicken.

 Milanesa Napolitana

It consists of a Milanese steak that is breaded, fried or baked and then topped with a slice of ham, spicy tomato sauce and thick slices of mozzarella, which will melt when in contact with the heat of the meat. It is usually served with fries on the side. You can find this product at Alexandria's Tango Pastry.

Chochotorta

A dessert made of layers of chocolate cookies, which are dipped in coffee or milk, and alternated with a dulce de leche cream and cream cheese. A classic that makes you fall in love and is available at Tango Pastry.

Pastafrola

A classic dessert made of a shortcrust pastry or frolla, covered with sweet potato or quince paste, and decorated with intertwined strips of dough. Enjoy it with the sweet of your choice at Tango Pastry.

Fugazzeta

Fugazzeta is a mozzarella stuffed pizza topped with onions, originally from Argentina. The onions must be thinly sliced and can be raw or sautéed. It is an irresistible option that you can find at Tango Pastry.

Matambre Relleno

An elegant dish that combines tender stuffed matambre meat. At Tango Pastry the stuffing is carrot, sweet red bell pepper, eggs and herbs. It can be served hot as a side dish or as a cold meat with a salad. Occasionally, sliced stuffed matambre is served on a roll, and the most extraordinary variety of this classic is a matambre pizza, made with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Matambre is available on the catering menu at Tango Pastry

Tea Sandwiches

these are sandwiches made with a soft and crustless white bread and a variety of fillings. Although tea sandwiches are usually consumed as a snack, they are also a staple at parties, celebrations or family gatherings. A common variety is called tostado , a toasted crumb sandwich traditionally served warm. At Tango Pastry we offer ham and cheese, ham and bell pepper, ham and palm heart and ham, lettuce and tomato. So you can choose your favorite flavors.

Sanguche de Milanesa

A perfect combination of two favorites: Milanesa and fresh bread. The ingredients depend on each person's taste, and at Tango Pastry we offer two options so you can choose according to your favorite. One is plain milanesa with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise; and the other is milanesa napolitana with lettuce, tomato, mozzarella cheese, ham or turkey, mayonnaise and tomato sauce.

So, if you wish to experience the authentic culinary essence of Argentina, I invite you to join me in this adventure of flavors through my business; it is a pleasure to take you on a gastronomic journey full of tradition, creativity and delicious dishes that will make you feel at home!
